Adopt Sparkles a Brown Tabby Domestic Shorthair cat in Chaska, MN (41403886)

Location:
Chaska, MN
Description:

Adoption Fee: $150, plus taxesLocation: Foster Home Of course, these one-year-old siblings have completely unique and charming personalities, but they come as a pair, which you'll come to understand after reading about them. Both, however, are incredibly smart and intuitive; they connected quickly to me and my family members: two teenage girls and one 12-year-old boy. Oreo took a little longer with my husband but warmed to him within 36 hours of meal and care visits when I left town for a few days. Both young cats are affectionate, giving nose kisses and forehead nudges; they love tummy rubs! Both are playful; they enjoy self-start interactive toys, playing with each other, and with us. We have fallen for both Sparkles & Oreo and wish we could keep them for ourselves. Whoever adopts these kiddos will have the best of all worlds for pets. We're gradually introducing them to our dogs; one is an older Lab who doesn't care much (perfect) and the other is an 18 month old rescue, whom we've raised since 8 weeks. She is energetic and playful and doesn't yet understand cats can't be chased and don't play the same way dogs do. There are closed doors and baby gates and we're following the helpful advice of Galaxy Jackson.com (youTube)-AKA Cat Daddy. We might not have the time required (hopefully) to introduce our 8-year-old cat; she's far more territorial. Sparkles and Oreo were quite open and curious to get to know our college daughter's (temporary living) 2-year-old cat. He, however, will take some time, as well. As the cat guru reiterates, you cannot throw strangers-cats or dogs-into a room together and "let them work it out. As for Oreo & Sparkles, they were more open and curious toward the resident animals, not yet territorial or overburdened with previous bad experiences, it appears. With proper, slow introductions, these two may get along with other dogs and cats. Sparkles has the energy of a teenage kitty: she's athletic, curious, affectionate & playful, just like her brother. She can entertain herself-they both can-and is a good listener-both siblings are very teachable. It's amazing that her tiny little self is capable of such daring leaps. She's Supergirl Cat! Sparkles rolls over on her back for a full-body stretch, beckoning tummy rubs; I've never experienced a cat like either of these cuties. Anyone who's raised kittens knows that one-year-olds are far easier because they've figured out a lot more of their world, are less messy, have fully expressed personalities. Sparkles is about one year old, she is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccinations. If you would like to meet Sparkles (and her companion -Oreo), please submit an application on Carver Scott Humane Society's website.
